Technorati Favorities Exchange Experiment
We can credit Maki of Dosh Dosh blog for coming up with this oh so clever idea.
It was he (sorry guys, Maki is a guy, cute little avatar notwithstanding) who figured out that it would be much easier to get your blog listed in the Technorati Top Favorites list than to make the Technorati Top Rankings list. So we can all thank Maki for getting the great highly successful Technorati Favorites Exchange experiment started.
It is actually a simple concept. Like, you favor my blog and I’ll favor yours. Easy, eh?
You might ask why you would want to do that? Well, the benefits are numerous. For one thing you will discover a lot of great blogs and fantastic bloggers as you work to create exposure to your own. I know I have already picked up some amazing tips on how to gain repeat readership for my blog, how to build traffic, and how to better monetize it.
With a bit of work you will began to see almost immediate results as your blog begins to gain in the number of times you are listed as a favorite and in your Technorati ranking. And with more exposure more traffic will come your way.
To be sure good quality content is still of paramount importance. You want those hard gained new visitors to have a good reason to come back. So be sure to maintain a good quality content blog and post often.
How has this worked out?
The results have actually been amazing. Dosh Dosh has gone from not even being close to being in the top 100 to a current 9th position. This puts him ahead of some very well established A List blogs. I mean ahead of most of the really big guys and gals.
Dosh Dosh is a top notch helpful, useful, rich content blog for those hoping to make some money online by the way. He deserves his high placement. Congratulations to him.
As for me my fairly new blog, about four months old as of today, April 26, 2007, has gone from nowhere about two weeks ago (well I had three blogs favoring me, including my own LOL) to number 85 on the Top 100 list today with 174 favoring blogs.
My Technorati ranking has also steadily increased from stuck in the 155,000 to 160,000 range to a current ranking of 56,506. I love Maki’s Technorati Exchange Experiment. It is never too late to take part. First favorite my blog my using this nice button. Make sure you place a Technorati Fave widget on your own blog.
