Army Recruiters: What They Are About

by hispanic

Army recruiters have the task of assisting candidates through various steps before they get accepted into the army. In the United States Army, the functions of recruiters include providing prospective volunteers with the information they need as well as accompanying candidates to the testing centers.

Army recruiters are stationed in various recruitment centers in the cities. When the candidate first meets a recruiter, it’s usually just for data gathering sessions so he knows the various details that regarding enlistment before deciding, including the requirements, the jobs available, the enlistment process, and the benefits of each job. The recruiter also answers any questions that the candidate may have.

The recruiter sets the date for a candidate to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test in a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or a local testing facility. The MEPS is where the physical examinations are done, as well as where the candidate gets to choose his/her military occupational specialty. The recruiter is also the one who provides the transportation to the MEPS.

Afterwards, when the candidate has taken the tests, the recruiter, together with the military counselor, is also usually the one who helps guide the candidate to pick the military job he wants to do. After the candidate has finished choosing an MOS and recieving his papers, he is given the date he needs to get back to the MEPS for shipping to basic training. The recruiter is also usually the one taking the enlistee back from the MEPS.

Army recruiters basically give the necessary information that all candidates must know before they make any decisions. They also guide them through the entire enlistment procedure. This is similar to the normal recruitment process of any other organization, although army recruiters do not have the same human resource-related tasks that regular recruiters have. For example, they cannot fire soldiers or decide their wages, although the army already has standards for these things.

Lack oomph? Inspiring posters can boost employee morale

by Dave & Carol Womble

Art that inspires is lovely … but art that motivates advances to a whole new level. Framed art can give your employees that little extra little oomph they need to stay motivated and reach common goals.

An important trend in office decorating today includes the use of motivational posters. Motivational art doesn’t just inspire; it encourages employees to forge cohesive bonds with coworkers and work toward the greater overall success of the company

Use motivational posters to keep workers focused, encouraged and on task. Maybe you want to foster teamwork … how about an inspirational poster depicting a team of rowers or skydivers? That will work wonders to reinforce the message that each member of your team has a valued role to play in the organization.

But it’s not just employers who are decorating with motivational posters. More and more, these framed mini pep talks are showing up in classrooms, recreation facilities and fitness centers … because everyone needs motivation.

In the classroom, teachers can use motivational posters to get their students jazzed about learning … and spur them to excellence! Students need to know that perseverance pays off - and what better way to reinforce that than with a visual reminder?

In the gym, coaches and trainers (at the high-school, collegiate and professional levels) use motivational posters to keep their athletes focused. You’ll see them in gyms, fitness centers and recreational facilities - because positive reinforcement makes a world of difference in helping athletes realize their potential and strive for excellence.

When someone in your organization deserves an “Attaboy,” reward achievement with a framed motivational wall poster. To really make the gift more personal, choose an image or a theme that’s close to the recipient’s heart.

Equipment, Skills: Skydiving Developed In The Army

by Andrew Caxton

The History Of Army Skydiving

In the past 50 years or so, parachuting and skydiving have become a favorite sport for thousands around the world. Many see this great activity as the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon. Some even plan their vacation around skydiving, seeking unique and beautiful places to see from the atmosphere. But, in spite of the hundreds of recreation and competition activities associated with skydiving, it is important to remember just how this thing called skydiving got its start.

The United States Army used parachuting as a major military tactic during World War II, using airplanes to put paratroopers into the battle zones. In those years the equipment was considerably less developed than it is today, with soldiers descending to the earth under heavy, round canvas chutes, clad in the best jumpsuits and boots that could be developed.

But there were enough soldiers who trained in this sector of the army to bring the idea of parachuting back home when the war ended.

Army Skydiving Teams

During the ensuing years, not only have the returning veterans continued to sky dive, but groups have formed within the military branches to provide recreation and competition for the active soldier. Many military teams are among the best in parachuting and skydiving competition. Aerial acrobatics is a particularly successful area for these teams. The Red Devils skydiving team has a history dating back to 1964. In the last 40 to 45 years, this group has performed around the world in their red jumpsuits, displaying formation skydiving to the multitudes.

Before ordering your metal airplane hanger know this…

by Amy Nutt

Before ordering your new prefab metal airplane hanger, there are things you need to know, especially when it comes to the hanger fitting your plane properly. That is why the first thing you need to do is determine the size of your aircraft. If you do not have your plane yet and are wishing to order your metal airplane hanger first, you still need to know what the dimensions are in order to make sure the doorway is large enough for the plane to fit through. It is simply not enough that the building is big enough, because a door that is too small means you wouldn’t be able to put the plane inside in the first place.

The plane

If you don’t yet have your plane, there are five common models that individuals buy. Knowing these models can help you determine what you may possibly buy and what size hangar you need. Those models are:

- The Cessna 206 - There are several different variations of the 206. However, the 206 has six seats. The length of the wing span is 35ft. 10 in., the length is 28ft. 3in., and the height is 9ft 7in. It is good to note these measurements to ensure your hanger is going to be a good fit.

- The Cessna 182 Skylane - This is a very popular aircraft. It is also said that maintenance is not too bad. The measurement of the wing span is 36ft., the length is 25ft 2in., and the height is 9ft 2in.
