Jim Rogers has announced that he is shifting assets out of the US Dollar. Rogers is not another talking head. Jim is a famous guy in commodity and forex trading circles. Jim Rogers first earned fame and fortune by becoming a partner of George Soros in the Quantum Fund.
After ten years of working with the Quantum Fund Rogers retired at an early age and did pretty much what he wanted to. One of his interests was in traveling about the world and then writing about his adventures from a global investment perspective.
More recently, in 1999, Rogers correctly forecast the boom in commodities which is still under way. Now Rogers has announced that he is shifting his assets completely out of the US Dollar. He favors the Chinese Yuan as the currency most likely to replace the US Dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Over the next 10 years Rogers expects that the Yuan will more than triple against the US Dollar.
Rogers goes on to say that “The U.S. dollar is and has been the world’s reserve currency, the world’s medium of exchange,” he said. “That’s in the process of changing. The pound sterling, which used to be the world’s reserve currency, lost 80 percent of its value, top to bottom, as it went through the whole period of losing its status as the world’s reserve currency.”
The Chinese currency, known as the renminbi, or yuan, is “the best currency to buy right now,” Rogers said. “I don’t see how one can really lose on the renminbi in the next decade or so. It’s gotta go. It’s gotta triple. It’s gotta quadruple.”
Jim Rogers has a history of being correct. For those who have an interest in diversifying out of the falling US Dollar he may well be a man worth listening to.

As my faithful regular readers will know this blog has a focus on politics. The focus will remain on politics no matter how down and dirty the US 2008 Presidential Campaign may become.
However, occasionally I feel it is important to comment on events outside the direct field of politics. I use the word direct because in some way politics effects almost every aspect of our lives. In the developed world of today it is difficult to escape from the consequences of political decisions, whether it is a major issue like the war in Iraq, or a bit more trivial like the pot hole in your street that lies directly in front of your house.
Perhaps you publicly supported the loser in the last local election.
Due to what I feel is the importance of financial events now taking place I would like to direct you to my new family of financial related blogs. The toxic effects of the meltdown in the US subprime mortgage lending has the potential to effect all of our lives in unpleasant ways for many years to come.
You can start to read a series of postings on this subject at Investment World Today. From there there are a number of links on the blogroll that will take you to more comments on the subject.
The prospect of the subprime mortgage market fiasco causing a worldwide financial panic and financial crash is real. The dimensions of the mountain of cash that is effected is unknown but tremendous.
This is one financial story that you will want to keep abreast of as it can drastically impact your life and living standards even if you are not a stock market or real estate investor.

In order to try and keep Article Discovery Politics a bit more focused on its main subjects of world politics and news analysis I’ve decided to crank up a new blog that will offer blogging tips and making money on the Internet.
On no. Another one of those you will probably say. Yep, afraid so. But as you know every blog is unique and just one good idea picked up out of the many blogs that you at least skim over may just make your financial future a lot brighter. That is if you actually jot the idea down and put it into motion.
The plan of adding blogs to your existing sites is actually a very good one. If you are using a hosting plan with cpanel software it is very easy to do. Just the input of basic data and a couple of clicks and Wordpress has been installed.
The hard part is deciding what Wordpress theme to use. There are so many good ones around that it can be quite a process to narrow it down and finally make a selection. You can install Wordpress from the cpanel and then choose and install your new theme installation. Or you can just use the basic theme installed from the cpanel.
If you have a few under used domain names around you may want to consider adding a blog to them. Blog postings usually get indexed within a few days. By following just a few SEO guidelines and than posting quality material you have a much better chance of achieving high search engine rankings, quality targeted traffic, and if you have monetized your blog, increased income.
