Lack oomph? Inspiring posters can boost employee morale

by Dave & Carol Womble

Art that inspires is lovely … but art that motivates advances to a whole new level. Framed art can give your employees that little extra little oomph they need to stay motivated and reach common goals.

An important trend in office decorating today includes the use of motivational posters. Motivational art doesn’t just inspire; it encourages employees to forge cohesive bonds with coworkers and work toward the greater overall success of the company

Use motivational posters to keep workers focused, encouraged and on task. Maybe you want to foster teamwork … how about an inspirational poster depicting a team of rowers or skydivers? That will work wonders to reinforce the message that each member of your team has a valued role to play in the organization.

But it’s not just employers who are decorating with motivational posters. More and more, these framed mini pep talks are showing up in classrooms, recreation facilities and fitness centers … because everyone needs motivation.

In the classroom, teachers can use motivational posters to get their students jazzed about learning … and spur them to excellence! Students need to know that perseverance pays off - and what better way to reinforce that than with a visual reminder?

In the gym, coaches and trainers (at the high-school, collegiate and professional levels) use motivational posters to keep their athletes focused. You’ll see them in gyms, fitness centers and recreational facilities - because positive reinforcement makes a world of difference in helping athletes realize their potential and strive for excellence.

When someone in your organization deserves an “Attaboy,” reward achievement with a framed motivational wall poster. To really make the gift more personal, choose an image or a theme that’s close to the recipient’s heart.

Motivational posters are also a great way to offer encouragement to someone you care about who’s having a difficult time … perhaps dealing with an illness or injury … loss of a job … even the death of a parent, spouse or child. You can bolster someone’s spirits with an uplifting and inspirational poster.

Maybe the struggling individual is someone in your family … perhaps even within your own home. Brighten a spouse or child’s spirits when they’re struggling or feeling low with a motivational poster meant to encourage and uplift. Or perhaps you’re the one who needs some encouragement. Give yourself the gift of encouragement and support. Pick out your favorite image, theme or quote that lifts your spirits and soothes your soul.

Sometimes, motivational artwork is so inspiring we forget the other half of the equation: artwork. Let’s face it … it’s beautiful. It makes you go “Ahh” (and not in a dentist kind of way, either) and it’s just nice to look at. You’ve probably even got a spot on one of your walls that could use a bit of prettying up … right? Well, how about a lovely piece of motivational art?
