Article Discovery Politics Gallery of World Leaders
Those of you who visit Article Discovery Politics regularly (thank you very much) will likely notice that I’m doing an extensive makeover of the look and feel of the blog. I hope that you like it.
A prominent new feature is the gallery of so called leaders and perhaps a few, very few, genuine far sighted people who are real leaders and can see beyond making cheap political shots of the day and focus on issues that affect our current quality of life and prospects for a better future.
While uploading the leaders photographs I couldn’t help but wonder how people allow such vicious, manipulative, aggressive human beings take control of their government and of their lives. Unfortunately, in American society and in societies around the world, all too often it is the worse sort of power hungry people who take over the governing of the average person’s life.
In being overly aggressive and engaging in unnecessary wars, like little kids playing dangerous games, our “leaders” tragically end and forever alter many lives of the very people they have pledged to serve along with the countless lifes destroyed of people named as the enemy. Rarely have wars solved any problems. Often they have made life much worse for millions of people.
Sorry, politicians of the world, until you can show me better results from your “leadership” that’s the way I have to call it. Not that the mess the world is in is all of your fault. Most people are just too busy trying to make a living, take care of their families, and to just get by than to become heavily involved in the political process.
And when they do they tend to be overly influenced by the mass media and the clever promises handed out by the politicians as if there is no cost to the government of free, free, free. The voters and private citizens believe in the time proven Big Lie made by the politicians that they will “take care of you”.
But then politics has not changed all that much in that respect over the past few thousand years. In Rome bread, entertainment, and circuses seemed to be what the Rome citizens wanted and the Emperors made sure that is what they got. The problem is of course that at it’s most basic level politics is all about the redistribution of wealth and clever politicians have to find some way to keep the masses happy while they are picking their pockets clean.
Most people just don’t care where the wealth is coming from as long as what they consider their fair share goes into their own pockets. Let the other guy pay, after all the thinking usually goes “he doesn’t need the benefits as much as I do.”
What we need are statesmen who can sort through the mess made by the politicians and correct a lot of flaws in political systems and processes that have grown over the years. But statesmen are hard to find. Probably we will have to muddle through and just hope for better days. Here’s hoping.
Note: I will be changing the main banners on the site as soon as I can decide what I want and have them made. Your ideas are very welcome.

Very well said David, and I’m in agreement with you. Government, of course, should be about caring for the needs and welfare of the citizens governed. Unfortunately, as you have stated, it’s questionable at best that that is most politicians primary focus. I’ll hope along with you. . .Here’s hoping the next president of the US, where I live, will take the actions necessary to address the ills of eight years of George W. Bush.
I like your new revision of Article Discovery very much. It has a nice, clean, well organized appearance. Keep up the good work!
