Barack Osama Obama bin Laden

Barack Osama Obama bin Laden Who?

For some reason Mitt Romney, campaigning in South Carolina Monday, seemed to have had a hard time keeping his Obamas and Osamas straight.

Was it just a simple slip of the tongue, a vicious back handed sneaky, oh I didn’t mean to say it, attack on Barack Obama, or does Mitt Romney have that much trouble keeping his facts and names straight? Just look at the Romney statement.

“Actually, just look at what Osam — Barack Obama — said just yesterday. Barack Obama, calling on radicals, jihadists of all different types, to come together in Iraq,” Romney said. “That is the battlefield … It’s almost as if the Democratic contenders for president are living in fantasy land. Their idea for jihad is to retreat, and their idea for the economy is to also retreat. And in my view, both efforts are wrongheaded.”

Looks like a thoroughly mixed up statement to me. He did say Barack Obama twice. And this man is actually running for President? One has to wonder what type of land Romney is living in? In Romney’s mind Fantasyland seems to be already occupied by the retreating jihadist Democrats.

But, let’s give Mitt Romney a little slack here. Maybe with the rigors of campaigning setting in he was just having a confused day. Campaigning has to be hard. However, keep in mind that one major purpose of the long drawn out process is to find out who is strong enough to stand up to the rigors of the campaign trail and still be able to function properly under stress.

If campaigning is considered stressful just think about the stress of the job all of the Presidential candidates are fighting for. How they perform on the campaign trail plays a  large part in determining who can best handle the stress of being President.
