Southern California Wildfires Scary Videos
Videos of the Southern California wildfires disaster continue to roll in as the wildfires remain largely out of control.
The challenge to firefighters is severe as the number of fires and the speed at which they are moving fueled by drought conditions and 100 MPH plus Santa Ana winds makes fighting the fires head on too dangerous. Then a lot of firefighting resources are being diverted to rescue people who underestimated the speed at which these fires are spreading.
Capt. Barry Parker of the Ventura County Fire Department said when asked if he had enough fire fighting resources said, “We truly don’t.”
“We’re using a limited amount of resources to go in and fight these fires,” he said. “We’ve got about 600 people on the Ranch fire; we normally would have about 1,500. So we have to be absolutely surgical in how we plan and how we tactically use our fire equipment because we just simply don’t have enough fire engines in the state of California to battle these blazes.”
If you live in Southern California you must quickly evacuate if you are requested to do so. With the strong winds pushing these fires along your life could well depend upon it.
