British Troops Battle Taliban

In the never ending war that was supposed to have ended five years ago British commando troops fight the Taliban in Agfganistan.

As you can see by the video this is tough going. The terrain and cover of mud huts and stone walls give the Taliban forces a lot of cover. Much of the fighting is in desert or mountainous areas.  It’s got to be very tough duty for British troops.

The big question for the British and American forces is what are we fighting for? Probably it is to establish supremacy in an area of the world that will become increasingly important as the world nears the global crisis that will be sparked by peak oil.

But the politicians can’t very well say that to the public can they? So they talk about spreading freedom and democracy to areas of the world that could care less about it.

The fight in Afghanistan will likely go on for a very long time. The Taliban appear to be stronger than ever. And what about Osama? No one mentions him much anymore. The world’s number one terrorist has moved off the front page.
