Al Gore International Superstar
Who would have believed it?
An ex Vice President of the United States in Hollywood standing in the glare of spotlights and worldwide coverage to receive an Oscar.
Bravo Mr. Gore. After the loss in 2004 to George W. Bush, the imperial decider with a history of poor judgement, for awhile it looked like you would be doomed to the obscurity that most ex Vice Presidents easily find. Fate is not usually kind to the second man in command once he is out of office.
For some time after the election you looked dazed, grew a not so attractive beard, gained a considerable amount of weight, and generally looked and acted like a has been. All very understandable when one examines the way the rich prize of the Presidency was brutally taken from your grasp. Lesser men would have simply faded away never to be seen in public again.
You are to be congratulated for winning the Oscar for your documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”. And you are to be applauded for your passion and persistence in following up on the issue of global warming and doing something, quite a lot, to raise public awareness worldwide about this most important issue.
All at a time when the man who somehow barely beat you in the 2004 election is still slow to take any meaningful action on the issue. An issue that may mean life or death for life as we know it on this planet.
Your comeback as a worthy person in the news and your new status as an international superstar is an inspiration to me and I’m sure to countless other bloggers.
Why?
Because global warming is not a new issue for you. Global warming has been a personal concern of yours since your university days. In this, you were a visionary. And by following your passion you have achieved an amazing comeback while promoting an issue that is vital to the well being of everyone on this planet.
Bloggers take note. Passion and persistence are powerful tools in your quest for blogging fame and fortune.
Al Gore seems positioned to make political history. Perhaps destined is a better choice of words. Gore has remade himself as a public figure. Perhaps under the expert coaching of a few famous and wealthy Hollywood directors Al Gore now seems confident, happy, relaxed, and animated in his public appearances. Contrast the new Al Gore to the man who appeared stiff, wooden, and uncomfortable in the 2004 race. For anyone who believes in personal self improvement you have to love it.
Should Gore decide to run again for President in 2008 he would have a flying start. Here is a man who has been right on a host of important issues. Global warming is certainly one. While Gore has been the subject of many jokes about being the “Father of the Internet” he was absolutely right about the importance of the role the internet would play in our daily lives. More importantly, Al Gore was absolutely right about the dangers of invading Iraq. No doubt if he had won the 2004 election the world would be a far safer place today.
Leading Democratic contenders Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama must have had a few nervous moments if they watched the Oscar awards ceremony. Now look for their smear Gore campaigns to begin.
Gore now has the charisma that he sorely lacked in the 2004 election. He also has the experience in foreign affairs and the worldwide respect that coldly calculating Mrs. Clinton , heavy baggage Rudy Giuliani, young Obama, and self destruction prone John McCain just don’t have.
Should Gore decide to run and should he win the Democratic nomination and go on to win the election it would be one of the most amazing comebacks in American political history. At a time when America desperately needs to regain respect for the office of President of the United States, both at home and abroad, Al Gore may just be the right man for the job.
Al Gore has been and is a visionary and a man of great integrity. There is a scarcity of those rare traits in politicians at a time when they are needed as never before.
Go Gore. Seize the moment. Toss that hat into the ring. The year of 2008 is destined to be yours if you want it badly enough.

Will blogroll your page when I next update…
You bet. Gore has always been a smart guy, a true visionary. Now he seems to have remade himself into being a smart guy with personallity. Hopefully, that will be the ticket to getting him into the White House.
That is if a White House is still standing after two more years of Bush. I don’t think that the US has ever had a lower standing in the world community.
