Explode Cross Site Social Networking
A new open source cross-site social networking service called Explode recently launched and looks like a it will be a challenger to the now Yahoo! owned MyBlogLog.
As you can see I have both MyBlogLog and Explode on my Article Discovery site. I’ve only been in MyBlogLog for a few days but no doubt I can already tell that it is a significant targeted traffic generator. I expect that Explode will be the same.
Explode differs from MyBlogLog in that it is designed to be a social networking mega site that will connect your contacts across all platforms. So instead of trying to keep up with say 17 different sites you can have a central focal point with Explode.
Both MyBlogLog and Explode are free to join and look like they will be sure fire traffic generators. They make it easy to find communities of like minded people. With Explode if you have a special interest in politics, social networking, traveling, web2.0, or whatever just click on a cloud page, select your cloud word and see all of that group in one place.
I’m not yet sure exactly how well they will work together but I’m in the process of finding out. As always your comments are welcome.
